I want to give a special thanks to those who weathered the storm and the flooding to allow for Texans not only the opportunity to collect essential supplies but even more offer a comfort of routine in a very unpredictable time. None of it would have been possible without the cashiers, sales associates, and managers of these operable locations.
And yes even a very special thank you to Whataburger. 😉

In the same light, there were many who unrightfully lost their jobs over the mandatory evacuations.
If you or anyone you know has lost their jobs due to the extreme weather conditions in the effected counties (does not include Tampa, FL) please contact the Texas Workforce:

Very thoughtful of you to acknowledge the efforts of these unsung heroes. Last week the city of Mumbai in India was flooded too. I could not make back home from work and had to check into a hotel. What was commendable was that the hotel staff were also people like me stuck in their workplace and unable to return home due to the floods but instead of throwing up their hands in exasperation, they went about their job with a smile on their face and filled in for those who could not make it to work for the next shift.

Mary buys that unpopular bread all the time. It isn’t *that* bad.
I like the idea of a float-thru window…
And seriously, what is wrong with an employer who fires someone because they can’t get to work because of a hurricane? Geez…

I agree. I’m glad the TX workforce has a reach out for it, but I’m sad that there is an actual need for it at all.

That reporter got dealt with fairly…..he got greedy and then he got busted by a editor who also is a journalist who was sharp enough to think outside the box. Notice how fast he wanted this to die out….

I’ve had a mixed bag affected as ALL my family and lifelong friends are in Houston. Some homes okay some absolutely ruined 😔 and a neighbor kid electrocuted.
