Hello Dearest Readers and a Happy Weekend to You All!
First and foremost I must apologize to my readers. I have not been as active or as engaged during this move as I would have liked, and though the kinks aren’t fully worked out I am slowly making my comeback.
I must also apologize for the poor blog quality as of late. After spending two hours writing the perfect Baybrook Mall Post (during my allotted nap time/ work time) I happily switched my editor over to HTML mode and the entire thing just went blank…as if I had never written a thing. Needless to say I was devastated and with precious moments left I must further confess that I just threw together what I could to get something published for the week.
The next post I wrote took about three days with research and writing in my allotted quiet times I could steal. I was so proud of it, as I had made a vow to switch my focus from the doom and gloom of retail to the positive happenings. Using my phone as a hot spot in our new Florida home (AT&T guys took a week and a half to show up and install our internet) and with little to no cell signal through most the house I was proud of all that I had achieved. Monday morning it posted, and not having a dependable signal I just depended on my auto shares to twitter and FB to spread the word of my new post, which it did. Wednesday, after the internet was finally installed I had a comment, kindly correcting my spelling on the title. I laughed at myself and went back to fix it when I found that what had published was not my full write up on Alter’d States but instead my original kitchen scratch notes when I was first brainstorming the information?! Again I was devastated, frustrated, and to be honest losing faith in myself as a blogger.
But it’s the weekend, and a bad week can be forgiven over a weekend.
I need to not only switch my retail focus to positivity, but my personal confidence needs positive vibes as well. I’m hoping to find time to rewrite my post to publish this Monday, so please keep an eye out! Of course also on the docket is an exciting new mall post on Tuesday, and on a positive note my Rice Village list posted without a hitch! It’s super fun, you should check it out if you haven’t yet!
Twitter Poll: Who Would You Save?
My Thoughts on the results:
- I was very surprised Macy’s did not come up with an outstanding lead amongst the B&M locations. And I love being surprised.
- My personal vote would be to save Sears, it is the renaissance man of the retail world.
- Another note, although Amazon took a great lead, at 38% they did not win the over all over B&M themselves; I found this quite encouraging.

Sears….that would be my choice also. They were the first large retail store in the area. I love their tools 😉 and value. I didn’t even see where Amazon was listed…I would have chosen Amazon for sure.
