What happens when one of the most iconic and popular malls in the city suddenly fails? You tear it down and build something amazing. This mall is a fantastic way to feel city vibes without ever leaving the suburbs. With an amazing location at the intersection of Sam Houston and I-10 this hub for excitement is just a hop and a skip away from anywhere on the west side of the city.
City Centre keeps you continuously entertained. In the heart of the mall is a giant green space where they hold movie night for kids and a concert series on Sunday afternoons. Though they strongly discourage bringing outside food or drink, offering their own restaurants as an easy means for food, though most of the restaurants are more expensive (except for Chipotle), so if you have a large family or are on a budget plan to eat dinner before you go and know that popcorn will be provided to you.
Outside of the events there is a hip new tavern like bowling alley and the Alamo Draft
House theatre which features and full bar and dinner menu. Though neither of these facilities are 100% family friendly, and the theatre specifically discourages the attendance of anyone under 18, and absolutely prohibits children under 6 or 3 depending on the film.
There are many high end retailers such as Free People and Kendra Scott. Test your palette at the vast array of oils carried by olive and vine, or take a cooking class at Sur La Table. There is also H&M for your fast fashion fix.
The mall is also attached to two hotels, and three areas for conferences, weddings, or any other event you may have a spacial need.
With green space, street art, well kept shops, entertainment, and fountains, I highly recommend a visit to the City Centre mall of Houston.
If you have already visited this mall this shopgirl is eager to hear your thoughts and opinions! Feel free to leave comments of your favorite things to do or see, and feel free to easily offer your own ranking here:

Certainly looks like the kind of place I would like to while away a couple of hours!

This is one of my favorite places. We live in the ‘burbs, so I get to feel like I’m back in the City whenever we come for an afternoon/evening out!

I have a friend whose folks live in City Centre, and when it first opened he took me to it, and I fell in love with the clean, safe, city feel it bestowed. 🙂

When we first moved to TX, my mom was staying with us, and I took her there for a night out…still one of my favorite nights out. I just like the way it feels there. I don’t get there often enough…maybe this will inspire a trip in the next couple weeks! 🙂
