In 2014 the Howard Hughes Corp. opened the first downtown outlet center in the U.S. This mall is not just a mall that holds one or two outlet shops and claims to be an outlet mall, but instead this mall is truly filled with wall to wall bargains. From Neiman Marcus Last Call Studio, Coach Outlet, and Nordstrom Rack you will be able to indulge without emptying out your wallet.
For those in need of mobility of accommodations can rent strollers or wheel chairs for a decently heft fee in the Spanish Plaza just outside the mall. Though the mall is multi-level mobility is possible with an elevator conveniently located down the hall behind Aerosoles on the first level and just next to the escalators on the second and third.
This New Orleans mall is convenient connected to the Hilton New Orleans Riverside and the cruise terminal. The mall is a quick jaunt or bike ride from anywhere in the quarter, and is a convenient stop on the trolley. If you find yourself in need of driving, parking will be discounted for those customers who spend at least 20 dollars while shopping.
I did find myself a bit disappointed that in a city full of so much art, music, and culture that this mall located in the heart of the city held zero personality in its design. Short of the swamp themed “Home on the Bayou” play area, or the Cafe De Monde location on the first floor, you could be in an outlet mall anywhere, USA, as opposed to the heart of the Big Easy.
Despite the void design, the mall does provide certain aspects of the New Orleans experience with a sip and shop bar on the first level of the mall. Then take in the beautiful sounds and the delicious samples at The Fudgery before wandering into the Mardi Gras Masquerade shop to collect your specialty NOLA souvenirs.
For family fun, there is a Play Area located in the food court on the third story. There are always quite a few interactive musical instruments to play in the Spanish Plaza. Play with the giant Xylophones or drums. Enjoy watching the riverboats and cruise ship make their way down the River.

OMG! How fun to visit different malls. All the outlet malls in my area are outdoors, so this is really interesting.

Omg so pretty! Our mall is like a hospital with clothes in the rooms instead of beds by comparison! (And in reality lol)
