20161109_1245372.jpg.jpegAlthough technically not a mall, Highland Village has been a shopping hub for Houston, Texas for nearly 50 years.   Starting out with just a cafeteria, a grocer, and a gas station, this 15 acre lot has spanned into a high end retail mecca.

Accessibility though can become an issue, as there are two streets that interrupt the flow of foot traffic, one of those streets being the incredibly busy Westheimer.   But it is the most centralized location of many major retailers, and the only local location for Crate & Barrel, West Elm, and Restoration Hardware.  Each shop is an experience like you have experienced in no other store in Houston, as they are almost primarily made up of flagships.   These will be the stores with the largest spaces, the most unique product, and the best merchandised shops.

Only a quick hop from the galleria I do advise approaching Highland Village from San Felipe to avoid the high traffic build up of Westheimer.  Especially take a visit in the evening to enjoy lights this holiday season.
