Bad employee suggestions have to be handled with care. Too often I watched as managers would shoot someone down, justifiably so most of the time, but they never explained why it was a bad idea or steered them in how to make it workable. It bred a lot of resentment.

Being honest with your employees is beneficial. Let them know their strengths and the areas that need improvement. Help them where you can, provide them the tools they need or point them in a direction to find the tools they need. Encourage team assistance for each other that will promote a better working environment. Seek out and destroy agitators. π

I LOVE #5…. I worked in retail for YEARS and rarely did we feel appreciated. These are great tips.
